Omari Hardwick Defends Black Lives Matter Movement
As you all may know by now, Power star Omari Hardwick is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. He recently had an interview with Huffington Post about recent incidents which led him to mentioning former mayor of New York City, Rudy Giuliani’s, comments surrounding black on black violence and the Black Lives Matter movement. Mayor Giuliani called Black Lives Matter “inherently racist” and also stated that black children have a “99% chance” of killing each other. After being asked his opinion on how he feels as a black man with the recent incidents, Hardwick responds with the word, "angry." He then goes on to comment about Mayor Giuliani's statement and how his words were inaccurate. “The reality is, because ‘black lives mattering’ has never made it to the mind set of young black men to understand the reason we matter is because we matter.” Check out Hardwick's interview in the video below.
