Noelle Hughley: Your Next Miss Universe
Noelle Hughley is a 20-year-old ambitious and cheerful young lady, from Atlanta, Georgia. She attends Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri where she is majoring in Mass Communications with a minor in Non- Profits.
Noelle is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. “I joined Alpha Kappa Alpha, because the women who represent Alpha Kappa Alpha are regal and profound,” Noelle said. “I was amazed with the original founders, who were on a mission to create a sorority founded on sisterhood, scholarship and service to the community.”
Noelle was crowned Miss Georgia Teen USA 2014, which is a part of the Miss Teen USA pageant in the Miss Universe Organization. As far as aspiring to be in any others, once she graduates from college, Noelle will pursue her dreams into being crowned Miss USA and later being crowned Miss Universe.
Noelle was only eight years old when she competed in her first pageant. She was inspired by the televised Miss Universe, Miss USA, and Miss Teen USA pageants. “The women who competed were like modern-day superwomen heroes. They were beautiful, intelligent, graceful, and unique in their own which made each of the contestants stand out individually. Many of the contestants were lawyers, doctors, politicians, nurses, scientist, dentist, and even veterinarians, just to name a few. I was truly amazed at how confidently beautiful they were, and that inspired me to compete in the Miss Universe Organization. I knew by competing and winning the pageant, that I could and mentor young girls and be a role model to them, like the women of the Miss Universe Organization was to me.”
Noelle’s biggest influence in her life has been herself and her mother. She admits that she is one of her own biggest influences, because of her high standards, dreams, and aspirations for herself that she knows she can achieve. “Growing up my mom and grandmother would tell me, ‘the only person that can hold you back, is yourself.’ Every day I take pride in bettering myself and pushing myself to do more."
Noelle expresses how she feels about her mother by describing her as, “a beautiful butterfly that lives inside of me.” Her mom is one of her biggest influences because she is one of her top four role models. “My mom has always beat the odds that were set against her, and she still continues to conquer them every day. When I look at my mom, I see a beautiful, strong, loving, family orientated, captivating, and audacious woman. She is a reminder to always do your best, so that one day you will be the best. My mom has never given up on me, no matter how many times I wanted to give up on myself. She has always been there for me, to support me in whatever extracurricular activities and organizations I strive to be a part of. Most of all, she is my best friend, always there to serve a mother, mentor, and friend to help guide me through life; so I can always be on the right path to achieving all of dreams and aspirations in life.”
