Ice Cube and His Call to Action
Former NWA member Ice Cube has been getting a lot of backlash this past week due to possible rumors surfacing that he is working with the Trump administration. The black community as a whole seems to be upset and confused as to why he would even discuss anything with the republican party. Is he a Republican? Does he not believe in Biden and Harris’s views, or is he simply trying to get a message out to his people?
“The system is f***** up, it’s just designed totally. And not only designed, but there is a dedication to keeping us at the bottom of this country,” says Ice Cube in an IG TV entitled Don’t Kill The Messenger.
“I don’t know if we can count on any parties to get us up out this s***, to be honest. So we are going to have to do a lot of things differently as a black community. We have to pull our resources, we have to think about ourselves, we love all the other races of the world but at some point, we got to figure out how do we get ahead because everybody’s on top but us.”
Ice Cube does not believe that any president in the history of our country has done right by black people. He goes into detail about how the Democrats break down and discuss issues that affect “minorities” yet nothing has been done for those minorities. Cube went on to inform us that he has a program that he has addressed and pushed to both parties, the Democrats and Republicans, however; the Republicans brought them in, moved their agenda a lot because of what was said, and put $500 billion on the table. We are unsure what will happen, but what we do know is that one nominee will win. Ice Cube is trying to get the black community to understand that we will never get any respect or anything done in this country without money. He also wants the black community to stop being so one-sided and hold everyone accountable.
In a sense, Ice Cube has not “joined forces with Donald Trump” at all. He is simply holding him accountable just like he is doing with Biden. He wants black people to step up, educate themselves more and not just vote because we want someone out of office, but vote to help our own community.
