#TBT Elite Eight Tribute Unity Step to Alpha Phi Alpha's Eddie Robinson At NAACP Image Awards
At the 27th Annual NAACP Image Awards in 1995, Grambling State’s longtime football coach Eddie Robinson was recognized by historically black Fraternities and Sororities, once known as the Elite Eight. On this night, Eddie received the Jackie Robinson Sports Award. Eddie Robinson coached 57 consecutive football seasons spanning from 1941-1997. During that time, Eddie won 408 games at Grambling State University including 9 Black College National Championships and 17 Southwestern Athletic Conference championships.
