Michael Jordan, six-time NBA Champion, cultural icon, and proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., continues to build a legacy that transcends the hardwood. His most recent act of service? Opening his fourth free health clinic for uninsured families in his hometown of Wilmington, North Carolina.

Jordan, a 1987 initiate of the Omicron Alpha chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., has long embodied the Omega principle of “Uplift.” Through a $10 million partnership with Novant Health, these clinics aim to address systemic gaps in healthcare access—offering not just primary care, but behavioral health services, social support, and assistance with chronic disease management.

The fourth clinic, like those before it, is designed to serve those who need it most: communities historically overlooked or priced out of traditional healthcare systems. In a world where preventative care can be a luxury, Jordan’s investment is a bold statement of love, legacy, and leadership.

“Everyone should have access to quality health care, no matter where you live or whether or not you have insurance,” Jordan said in a statement. “I’m proud that we’re able to give back to Wilmington.”

This initiative doesn’t just reflect Jordan’s philanthropic spirit—it speaks directly to the values instilled by his fraternity. Omega Psi Phi has long emphasized community uplift, scholarship, and manhood. Jordan’s work adds another layer to what it means to be a Que beyond college campuses and step shows.

As Prophytes Be Like continues to highlight the professional and philanthropic accomplishments of members of the Divine Nine, let Michael Jordan’s actions remind us: real ones leave a mark far beyond the spotlight
